Master of Social Health (Research)
The Master of Social Health (Research) is a research degree for those who have research experience and who want to pursue an area of research in social health. The Master of Social Health (Research) offers students the opportunity to undertake a major research thesis (30, 000 words) under appropriate supervision of qualified and experienced staff in an area relevant to the Centre’s research interests. If you have little or no formal research training, you can enrol in the Master of Social Health by Research by shorter thesis (20,000 words) and undertake the Centre’s two core research training subjects: Principles of Research Design and Research Methods in Social Health. On completion of the Master of Social Health (Research) you will have a sophisticated understanding of the principles and processes of research design, have demonstrated the ability to identify research issues and formulate research questions, and have designed and conducted independent research at Masters level. In addition, you will have developed significant problem-solving abilities in the conduct of your research, have a critical application of specialist knowledge in social health, and have developed a respect and understanding for the ethics of scholarship.
