The School of Graduate Studies was established in 1994 to provide enhanced services and facilities for all postgraduate students of the University. The School's primary objective is to enhance the quality of graduate education through policy development, performance monitoring, targeted academic support and effective program administration.

Academic Activity Grants

Among the many initiatives of the School of Graduate Studies are Academic Activity Grants. The purpose of this scheme is to facilitate postgraduate student involvement in a range of academic and cultural activities, which will enhance and complement their experience of postgraduate study at the University of Melbourne. University Grant Schemes

There are a number of university grant schemes to which postgraduate students can apply. Supervisors should be aware of the University’s Melbourne Abroad Scholarships (MABS) and the Postgraduate Overseas Research Experience Scholarships (PORES) administered by the Melbourne Scholarship Office.
