General resources & facilities
- A comprehensive induction and orientation to discuss facilities and resources available to the student (including building access, photocopying, consumables and conference travel)
- An initial meeting with the principal supervisor to discuss and agree on the expected process and pattern of supervisory sessions and availability of project-specific facilities and resources
- Regular meetings with the supervisor/s
Specific resources & facilities
- Access to a shared: office, desk, networked computer, lockable filing cabinets and bookshelf facilities.
- Access to IT support for data analysis, writing and information access
- A university email account and email access
- Limited dial-in access from home (obtainable from Information Technology Services - ITS) to a limit of 167 hrs per year ($100 per year) for Masters and PhD students
- Authorised access to photocopying at the centre; students will be given a pin number and a page limit of 1000 pages a year.
- Authorised access to printing, mail and telephone for research purposes
- A limited number of interlibrary loan vouchers per year for research purposes
- A campus mailing address and pigeonhole
- Authorised access to stationery that is directly related to research activities
- Access to common room and tea and coffee making facilities
- Access to borrowing rights for recording and transcribing equipment
- Authorised building access after working hours if required
- Competitive access to funds for conference attendance, fieldwork, data collection and other relevant research activities
- Information about availability of additional funding for conference attendance, fieldwork, data collection and other relevant research activities
- Postgraduate representation on relevant committees
In addition, the Graduate Centre in Grattan Street offers graduate students access to a range of services, including study spaces.
